TNA Suspends Gut Check Voting

TNA released the following statement:

A MESSAGE TO OUR LOYAL FANS REGARDING THE GUT CHECK CHALLENGE

In January, we launched the Gut Check Challenge as an online competition to give many independent wrestling stars a chance to showcase their talents and potentially earn a spot on the IMPACT WRESTLING roster.
However, due to a number of issues with the voting - and in fairness to all the competitors - we have decided to suspend the Gut Check Challenge.

We will be re-launching the contest in the near future with a new voting system that will eliminate the voting issues. Stay tuned to our website for updates - and thank you for your continued support of TNA and IMPACT WRESTLING!

WWE Stopping TNA Using Some Areas?

Credit:PWInsider

With TNA Impact Wrestling taking their show on the road, WWE has began contacting a number of major arenas to put holds on them for future dates. At least one person within WWE thinks that if TNA begins going on the road every Thursday, WWE may need to change their touring schedule to Thursday, Friday and Saturday for at least one of the brands.

There is internal talk that WWE will put some arena dates on hold to make sure TNA doesn't get into them. WWE also may be enforcing some of their non-compete clauses so TNA can't run in the same buildings they do.

News On WWE Tryouts

Credit:PWInsider

The WWE tryouts at NXT this past weekend were described as grueling as hell and very physical. One wrestler noted that it was the toughest time of his life.

One talent who paid to be in the tryouts quit in the middle of the first day. There were between 10 and 14 injuries suffered over the weekend and a source noted that most of the guys that got hurt were non-wrestling guys who came in thinking they were tough.

No word yet on who will be offered deals but officials at the tryouts said they would be making offers in 2-4 weeks.

Popular wrestlers who attended the tryouts include ROH TV Champion Adam Cole, Mike Bennett, DGUSA star Samuray del Sol, independent star Ricky Reyes, Northeastern wrestler Smith James and Luke Hawx from Extreme Rising

Smackdown:
Big Show came out and complained about Booker T, accused Booker of giving Alberto his hotel information. Said Booker was jealous that Show is still an in-ring performer (setting up a Wrestlemania match maybe?)
Booker told Show he has suspended Alberto Del Rio, but Show has to wrestle Kane tonight.

Cody Rhodes beat Kofi.

Video shows Big Show out back berating his bus driver; Alberto Del Rio is shown lurking in the background.

Khali came out with Hornswoggle & Natalya, defeated Titus O'Neil. Then, Mark Henry came out and bashed Titus around outside the ring, climbed in and scrapped with Khali. Khali got in some offense, but Henry slammed him. (Crowd was pro-Henry chanting "One more time!")

Henry then takes the mic and addresses the beatings he's administered to Rey, Titus and Khali; says the Hall of Pain is now open. Then, he complained about Booker not including him in the Elimination Chamber. It was a pretty good promo, a lot of fire. Booker T comes out. Henry said he's going to keep injuring people until there's no one left and they have to add him to the Chamber. Booker says if Henry beats Randy Orton tonight, he's in the Chamber match.

Big Show KO'd Kane in a kind of quick match.

Alberto interrupts on the big screen, tells Show he's made some changes to Show's bus. Show leaves, goes out back to discover Alberto & Ricardo stole his tires. Then, Del Rio turns Show into the world's largest Oompa Loompa by dumping a 5 gallon bucket of orange paint on him from the top of the bus.

Swagger made Justin Gabriel tap.

Tensai took on Drew McIntyre with 3MB at ringside. Quickly turned into a 3MB beatdown, Tensai wins by DQ. Brodus then comes out for the save. Tensai & Brodus dance.

Cesaro pinned Sin Cara in a short but fun match.

Miz is in the back talking about Brock Lesnar; Cesaro interrupts and the two brawl in the interview area.

In the Smackdown Main Event, Mark Henry blocked an RKO, shoved Orton into the corner and then hit him with the World's Strongest Slam for the win; Henry is in the Chamber match.
