Live Results for WWE Night Of Champions 2012 16/9/12

Hey guys, Ashley here with your results from the only WWE PPV of the year where EVERY title is on the line, WWE Night Of Champions, from Boston. Will Sheamus be able to control his emotions in order to retain his World Heavyweight title? Will Cena manage to regain the WWE Title in his hometown? And will JBL be as classic as he was back in the day as he returns to the commentary table?

News from the pre-show: Zack Ryder won the 16-man battle royal by eliminating Tensai to go on to later tonight to take on Antonio Cesaro for the United States Title.

We open with the opening video, mainly covering the match between Punk & Cena.

Pyro goes off and we start with Michael Cole giving us an update on Jerry Lawler, saying that's getting better and resting up in hospital but will be going home this week. They introduce JBL as Cole's commentary partner for tonight. The IC title match is up first, with The Miz not being happy with a fatal 4-way match, interrupted by Rey Mysterio, who is then followed by Cody Rhodes and Sin Cara lastly.

Match 1 - Intercontinental Title - The Miz (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Sin Cara
Miz got the win (even though he was wearing a Sin Cara mask) by hitting the Skull Crushing Finale on Cody to keep his title.

WINNER - The Miz

Cut to backstage and the Prime Time Players are talking with Eve, not happy about losing their tag title shot, until she gets ushered away to an injured Kaitlin backstage. Looks like she won't be able to compete against Layla tonight. Eve promises her a title shot in the future, but she'll arrange things for later on... I smell shenanigans... or rotten eggs, it's a relatively similar smell this time.

Kane & Daniel Bryan promo, signaling the Tag Title match is next. Daniel Bryan is out first, followed by Kane and their opponents Kofi Kingston & R-Truth out last.

Match 2 - WWE Tag Team Titles - Daniel Bryan & Kane vs. Kofi kingston & R-Truth (c)
Despite their disagreements, Kane & Bryan win the titles via Bryan throwing Kane off the top rope and inadvertently on Kofi below and getting the pinfall.

WINNERS - Kane & Daniel Bryan

Booker T & Kane backstage and Eve comes in giving the details on Kaitlin from earlier, Booker then decides that, as Eve beat Kaitlin on Raw a week or so ago, and the nature of the battle royal finish, Eve  will get the spot. You see, shenanigans afoot...

Antonio Cesaro is out now with Aksana, saying that this upcoming match is unfair... in 5 languages... is he the new face of Rosetta Stone? Anyway, Zack Ryder is next out to take him on.

Match 3 - United States Title - Antonio Cesaro (w/Aksana) (c) vs. Zack Ryder
Very good match between these two, but after hitting the Neutraliser on Ryder, Cesaro gets the pinfall and retains his belt.

WINNER - Antonio Cesaro

Alberto Del Rio, David Otunga & Ricardo Rodriguez are backstage. Ricardo says that his neck is fine now, but is pressured by Otunga & Del Rio to put it back on as it helps their case against Sheamus's Brogue Kick. Vickie Guerrero is yelling 'Excuse Me' again, so Dolph Ziggler is on his way out now, followed by Randy Orton.

Match 4 - Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) vs. Randy Orton
Fantastic match from both competitors, very back and forth between the two, but Orton gets the win eventually with an RKO on Ziggler.

WINNER - Dolph Ziggler

The Divas Title match is up next. The champion, Layla, is out first, followed by the replacement for Kaitlin tonight, Eve Torres

Match 5 - Divas Title - Layla (c) vs. Eve Torres
After going back and forth for the first few minutes, Eve begins to dominate and hits the neckbreaker finisher she has to get the win and become the new Divas Champion!

WINNER - Eve Torres

Backstage, and Daniel Bryan & Kane are trying to reconcile their differences after winning the tag titles, with the help of GM AJ and Dr. Shelby. Bryan apologises but Kane walks away, only to return with a Gatorade bath to all 3 of them, and says that all he has to say is 'I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!' ... Mick Foley is alive and well in WWE Creative...

Promo now for our next match, the World Heavyweight Title match. Alberto Del Rio is out first in his Ferrari, followed by the champion, Sheamus.

Match 6 - World Heavyweight Title - Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez & David Otunga) vs. Sheamus (c)
Before the match gets underway, Booker T comes out and declares the Brogue Kick safe and to be reinstated. Del Rio is unhappy at this and argues with Otunga on the ring apron, only for Sheamus to connect with the Brogue kick on Otunga, Del Rio narrowly avoiding it.

Very good match here, ending with Sheamus hitting Del Rio with the Brogue Kick to retain his title.

WINNER - Sheamus

Promo now for the main event between John Cena & CM Punk for the WWE Title. Paul Heyman is already out as soon as the promo finishes, saying that he has the best seat in the house to see CM Punk retain his title. CM Punk then makes his way out to the ring, followed by Cena in his new 'Rise Above Cancer' ring attire.

Match 7 - WWE Title - CM Punk (w/Paul Heyman) (c) vs. John Cena
Excellent main event showing from both Cena & Punk, the end coming with Cena hit a German Suplex on Punk and gets the pinfalll.

WINNER - John Cena....

But wait, the referee is now pulling the belt away from Cena, saying that both guys shoulders were on the mat for the 3 count. The match is NOW declared a draw. Punk retains the WWE Title.

CM PUNK KEEPS THE BELT

Cena isn't happy with this decision, only to be met with the WWE title in his head from Punk. Punk then left the ring and celebrated with Paul Heyman up the ramp as we fade to black.

A very good show put on by WWE tonight. What will the fallout be from all that went down, with the controversial WWE title decision, the new Tag team champions and Divas champion. Find out tomorrow, with my recap of all that's going down on WWE Monday Night Raw, until then... ASHLEY OUT!!!

Audio: Katarina “Winter” Waters's First Post TNA Interview With Transcript

The full audio can be found at http://archive.org/download/Rtr9-12-12/Rtr9-12-12.mp3 starting at the 1 hour 29 minute mark

Katarina “Winter” Waters was a guest on this week’s “Running The Ropes” hosted by Brian Bertand & Chris Kelly , which can be heard on http://www.snsradionetwork.com/ & http://www.unchained-wwe.com/, and below are some of the highlights:

Her thoughts on the teased incest angle between Paul Burchill and herself:
I can’t exactly remember who (came up with the idea), it was put to us by one of the agents and honestly, I thought it was a great idea. I was totally for it and I thought it could have been cool, something like “The Crow” where you have the bad guy with the sister and they teased that incest thing. It has that ambivalent “you don’t know if it is happening or isn’t happening” feeling but people are kind excited about it. Any incest angle that has been on any kind of television had amazing ratings as people are fascinated by anything that is a little taboo. I thought we were lucky to have a storyline that would have been a little “on the edge” but unfortunately, with the whole PG thing, it got nixed.

The idea behind the “drugging “Angelina Love storyline:
It’s about the lingering effects. It’s like when you take a drug a lot (to a point) where certain parts of your brain with simulate to the effects of the drug and it might change you forever. So seeing as I was drugging Angelina and putting her under my hypnotic spell, eventually it just so happened her brain altered itself in tune with the drug.

Her feelings about her 18 day Knockout’s title reign last year before dropping it to Mickie James then regaining it:
Honestly, I thought it was kind of pointless with the little switch-a-roo in between. Sometimes it’s worth building the storyline with one person holding the championship for a little longer. The same thing happened when Velvet (Sky) won it (at Bound For Glory), she was built up at the top babyface and finally she won it and she dropped it immediately and I felt like it was kind of weird.

Her thoughts on leaving TNA Wrestling and if she is happier now she has left:
I’m happier because I’m making the transition into acting to where I don’t want to be restricted by contacts or obligations to a wrestling company. I still love wrestling but in terms of having a career, I’m not going to have a career in wrestling now, I’m going to have a career in acting. I don’t want a thing that could stand in the way of that number one, and number two, I don’t want to constantly be on the road and constantly traveling for wrestling as I don’t want to get injured.

Other subjects covered in the interview include her thoughts on the state of the Knockout, her thoughts on Vince Russo, what movies she has upcoming and much much more.

John Cena To Debut New Pink Attire Tonight

Credit: Bostonherald.com

John Cena’s new favorite color?

Pink.

The decorated pro wrestler, a product of West Newbury and 12-time World Wrestling Entertainment champion, is set to unveil his new Susan G. Komen for the Cure pink ring attire tonight at the TD Garden for the “Night of Champions” pay-per-view event. While most eyes will be glued to the wrestling action inside the squared circle, the real story with Cena is his work outside of the ring.

Cena will be wearing his new gear through October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The mission of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is to eradicate breast cancer, which can be a deadly opponent when not treated early. Cena’s “Rise Above Cancer” endeavor is just a part of what makes him one of the most charitable celebrities in the world.

“One of the reasons I really wanted to do something with Susan G. Komen is because of my brother,” said Cena, 35. “Early detection saved his life.”

Cena’s youngest brother, Sean, learned last November that he had brain cancer.

“Sean’s doing extremely well,” said Cena. “It was an inoperable brain tumor, but one of the main reasons he’s done well is the early detection. I know it’s brain cancer and breast cancer, but that key is early detection.”

The Cena-Komen partnership on the surface seems like an odd one, but they are a perfect match. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer, as well as the second-leading cause of cancer-related death among women in the U.S. And there are more than five million women who watch WWE programming each week.

“It’s very exciting for us to be partnered up with Susan G. Komen,” said Paul Levesque, the executive vice president of talent and live events, but better known as “Triple H” to the WWE universe. “The WWE and John Cena have such a large female fan base, so it’s important for us to support the people who have supported us for so long.”

And the people at Komen are not shy about explaining how this tag team was built.

“This all came together through John Cena,” said Ronni Cohen-Boyar, the executive director of Komen’s Massachusetts affiliate. “We’re wrestling with breast cancer, but John wanted to give back to his fans and he came to Komen. This is a great opportunity for us to reach out to people and help them take action.”

Cena is the second-oldest of five boys (“we’re like a pack of wolves”), and sees the connection between his willingness to give back and the way he was raised.

“The concept of loyalty is something I learned from my family,” said Cena, “and that’s truly been a big attribute that’s got me where I am today.”

Cena’s loyalty is on display every time he meets his fans, but particularly so with a special part of his fan base: the children from Make-A-Wish. In June, Cena granted his 300th Wish, far and away the most one person has given to the esteemed foundation.

“John travels 300 days a year, yet he still commits his personal time to granting the wishes of kids wanting to meet him because he is passionate about his fans,” said Make-A-Wish CEO David Williams. “He recognizes the tremendous honor of someone having the opportunity to ask for anything in the entire world and then choosing to meet him.”

Cena understands the gravity of these wishes.

“Make-A-Wish is all about living one’s spirit,” said Cena. “A wish is a giant morale boost and gives these kids an extra special day in the fight of their life. You never want a family to get that one wish and walk away and say, ‘Oh man, I wish we wished for something else.’

“You can write checks, and that’s always well-appreciated, but you can also donate a very valuable asset, and that’s time,” said Cena. “Time speaks volumes. And I would never say no, especially to a child whose only wish is to meet me — that’s just the most flattering thing, I can’t even put it in words. Giving back is something that will never stop.”
