News On Randy Orton's WWE Return

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter Due to the depth issues with WWE's roster, Randy Orton will continue to be pushed near the top when he returns from suspension soon. Orton has been vocally frustrated in the sense that he believes he is better as a heel. WWE feels they need one top babyface to anchor the live events and they are trying to get Sheamus there but aren't sure if he's ready yet, which is why Orton is still a babyface. Orton is also frustrated because officials took his punt kick away from him, which was done because of the concussion issues.

Sakamoto Expected To Start Wrestling Soon

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sakamoto is expected to start wrestling within the next few months. His association with Tensai is over after Tensai beat him down on RAW two weeks ago with the beatdown being part of Tensai's repackaging. Sakamoto was originally trained by former WWE star Taka Michinoku at his Kaientai Dojo school in Japan. Sakamoto debuted back in 2003 and was signed by WWE in 2011.

Update On Alberto Del Rio's Concussion

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter Regarding Alberto Del Rio being pulled from No Way Out due to a concussion but wrestling Santino Marella the next night on this week's RAW, it was explained by a source that WWE is just very strict on the issue of concussions. Del Rio was not cleared to wrestle by the June 11th go-home RAW and there was no probability on June 11th that he would be cleared for No Way Out so they went with the back-up plan of Dolph Ziggler getting the shot against Sheamus. Del Rio ended up getting cleared but by that time they already had changed direction.

Update On Chris Sabin's Injury & How Long He Is Expected To Miss

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter As reported before, Chris Sabin tore his left ACL on last week's Impact Wrestling. The injury came during Ultimate X when Austin Aries backdropped him over the top rope. He was to have his fall blocked by Ion but he landed bad. Sabin will likely undergo surgery that will put him out of action six to nine months. Sabin just returned in March after being out of action for 11 months due to reconstructive surgery on his right knee.

Early Word On TNA's Slammiversary Buyrate

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter , the early buyrate for TNA's Slammiversary between 14,000 and 15,000 buys. This is up from the usual 7,000 to 10,000 buys that average TNA pay-per-views draw. This is way up from the 2011 Slammiversary event which was estimated at 7,500 buys.

Backstage Concern Over Vince McMahon Mocking Jim Ross

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is concern among WWE officials that Vince McMahon's mockery of Jim Ross' affliction with Bell's palsy in a backstage segment on the June 11 Raw SuperShow could cause backlash for the organization. The Creative Coalition, which formed a multi-platform, nationwide anti-bullying alliance with WWE, "be a STAR," would appear hypocritical by conducting business with an organization that practices what they preach against.

Breakdown Of WWE Raw's TV Rating For 6/18/12

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter As reported before, the 6/18 edition of WWE Raw scored a 3.40 cable rating with 4.97 million viewers. This is the best rating RAW has done since the day after WrestleMania 27. In the segment breakdown, CM Punk and Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan and Kane lost 241,000 viewers from the opener that started strong. Dolph Ziggler vs. Jack Swagger lost 22,000 more viewers. The segment with Paul Heyman and Triple H gained 559,000 more viewers for a show-high 3.74 quarter rating. Santino Marella vs. Alberto Del Rio lost 711,000 viewers. The segment with Heath Slater, Wendi Richter, Cyndi Lauper and Roddy Piper lost 12,000 more viewers. John Cena vs. David Otunga and John Laurinaitis in the main event gained 573,000 viewers to a 3.74 quarter rating.
