Confirmed: Ric Flair Quits TNA Wrestling

Credit:PWMania Several TNA sources have now confirmed that Ric Flair has “quit” TNA Wrestling. According to three different TNA sources, Flair no-showed several TNA events last weekend and didn’t show up to the iMPACT! tapings last Monday and Tuesday. TNA is trying to smooth things over but as of now, he is done with the company. Flair and Dixie Carter have had talks over the past week. There are rumblings that Flair will be signing with WWE under a “Legends Deal” to help promote the WWE Network. Flair also has an energy drink and lottery endorsements which he’s making money from. As we noted earlier, people close to Ric Flair and TNA have confirmed that the two sides are at a major impasse, as there is a ton of heat on Flair for conduct outside the ring. One TNA source described the situation as, “being at the point it’s not worth keeping Flair around.” There have reportedly been a number of incidents involving Flair at local establishments and bars in Orlando since coming to the company. Sources say that Flair was banned from drinking at the Hard Rock Cafe in Citiwalk due to an incident with him “acting inappropriate”, leading to venue management banishing him. There have been reports from talent in TNA that Flair has not been able to cover bar tabs repeatedly, and company management getting a call from the hotel and/or bar seeking payment. The most recent incident at the hotel TNA utilizes for their wrestlers and staff, which the company has had a great relationship with for years. This was reportedly the last straw in the situation, as Flair was pulled from the Louisiana house shows and the final TV Tapings before Impact Wrestling goes live on May 31st. Many have compared this to the situation on the European tour last year, where TNA’s Craig Jenkins, after several days of fronting Flair money to cover a bar tab, refused to do so again. Flair then screamed at Jenkins in front of the entire crew and refusing to get on the TNA tour bus to head to the next date, and was then left behind. Publicly, Flair blamed the matter on the company not giving him “advances” like he would get when touring for WWE, citing that he was “used” to that treatment. Many forces within the company have been against having him as a regular since he came into the company, noting that while he carries a high price tag, he hasn’t translated into drawing money or ratings for the company. And now with these issues, it seems, as all they are getting is “Ric Flair level behavior,” not “Ric Flair level performances.” Others within the company feel that Flair and WWE put them in a “no win situation” when Flair was announced for the WWE Hall of Fame, noting that the company had no choice but to allow him to go in, or else they would look like they were denying Flair and the fans. Flair reportedly did not know that he was getting inducted but he publicly told fans he would be there “on stage” before a deal was signed that would allow him to appear. Spike TV sources also note that there have also been a number of requests from the network end to keep Flair dressed and not have him near nude/in his wrestling gear and bleeding on TV at his age. There was even an order of arrest out for him if Flair did not pay the agreed settlement by a certain date. That order was issued because Flair had missed several agreed dates for payment of the settlement. The money was eventually paid and the NWA World title belt, which Highspots.com was holding as collateral, was seen displayed at WWE AXXESS this year. Most believe that WWE paid the debt and acquired the belt for their archive. Unfortunately since leaving WWE, Flair has had several issues. He signed for a number of appearances with Ring of Honor, and then pulled out citing his relationship with WWE. Most feel that Flair realized ROH weren’t going to use Reid Flair following a drug arrest. When Flair didn’t pay back an advance given to him, ROH filed a lawsuit against him Flair also had issues with Highspots.com over money owed to them.

Live Results for WWE Raw 21/5/12

So, what will go down on tonight's Raw after an eventful Over The Limit PPV last night? Will Cena be shaken by his loss? What is Big Show's explanation for his actions last night? And most importantly, will we get a rematch between Punk and Bryan after their excellent match last night? Only way to find out is right here, folks.

We start with a recap of what went down in the Cena Vs. Laurinitis match from last night.

We cut to the arena and John Cena is making his way to ringside. Cena seems upset by the manner of what happened last night, especially with 'People Power' in full effect. He specifically mentions Big Show knocking him out as well. He talks about the antics that he did rather than getting the result, saying that Laurinitis deserved to be humiliated. Whoever the GM would have been after Laurinitis lost would have had the power to re-hire Big Show.

Cue the People Power music and Eve comes out and introduces John Laurinitis on a disability scooter. Laurinitis says that he went to the hospital and he has some pretty bad injuries, but now that he's out of the ring, he's an Exec VP and if touched or attacked, then he will terminate the superstar. He then introduces the man who was re-hired on Saturday and will face Cena in 4 weeks at No Way Out... Big Show.

Show realises that he cried last week on national TV, yet received no sympathy from anyone. He now has an ironclad contract and that he's going to knock Cena out. David Otunga makes his way out saying that Cena should now lose to him and challenges Cena to a match. Cena says that if he does get in and take him on, then he will hurt Otunga. Just before Otunga comes down the ramp, he dedicates the match to John Laurinitis. The match is upcoming after the break.

Match 1 - John Cena vs. David Otunga
Lasts just a few minutes, Cena dominating over Otunga. AA from Cena and the match is over.
WINNER - John Cena

Straight after the match finishes, some of the undercard talent, including Darren Young & Titus O'Neil, hits the ring and attacks Cena. Sheamus then makes a run-in to help Cena clear the guys out. Laurinitis then gets on the microphone and says that tonight Sheamus and John Cena will team up in a first ever 2-on-3 handicap lumberjack match. The opponents are yet to be revealed

We also have scheduled for tonight Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton and a face-off / call-out between Daniel Bryan and CM Punk.

Ricardo Rodriguez is introduced but as he's getting ready, Santino makes his way out and says that over the past few weeks he hasn't been able to understand him. He says that he should be rolling his R's more. Ricardo fails at this and then gets hit with the Cobra. Santino then introduces Del Rio. As Alberto is making his way out, they officially announce the 1,000th episode of Raw on July 23 will be a 3-hour show and every week from then on, 3-hour Raw shows will be the norm.

We are back from break and Orton is making his way out for the match.

Match 2 - Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton
Good little match but Jericho makes a run-in and hits Orton with a codebreaker causing a DQ.
WINNER by DQ - Randy Orton

Jericho then attacks Orton further and gets on the mic and proclaims that he's the best in the world at what he does. Looks like an Orton vs. Jericho feud is on the cards.

We're back from a break and Daniel Bryan is now making his way down to the ring, looks like Bryan will be calling out Punk now. Bryan says a great injustice was done last night with the pin and submission from last night. Cue a replay of the ending. Bryan says that he should be the WWE Champion and deserves a rematch.

'Cult Of Personality' hits and CM Punk makes his way out saying that last night was one hell of a match but that he came out on top. He says he'd like to take on Bryan but has some unfinished business from Smackdown. Cue a recap of the Punk vs. Kane match from Friday, with Bryan hitting Kane with a chair and Kane attacking Punk, thinking that Punk did it.

Punk then introduces Kane to ringside.

Match 3 - Daniel Bryan vs. Kane
Kane is overpowering Bryan so Bryan escapes outside the ring. Punk then grabs a chair and goes to swing it at a downed Kane. Bryan grabs the chair before that though, only for Kane to see Bryan, take him down and hit him with the steel chair.
WINNER by DQ - Daniel Bryan

Kane then keeps hitting him with the chair, throws him in the ring and gives him a chokeslam. Punk then goes in the ring 'to check on him' by rubbing salt into Bryan's wounds, continuing to attack and embarrass him.

We're back and CM Punk bumps into AJ backstage. AJ compliments him but Punk gives her the cold shoulder. AJ gets upset so Punk gives her a hug and comments that he loves crazy chicks. Some interesting chemistry there. We then get a recap of Heyman last week putting a lawsuit on HHH and WWE for the Brock Lesnar incidents, pusihing an article on the WWE website.

Justin Roberts then introduces Christian back to Raw after 8 weeks and as the new Intercontinental Champion, which he won last night, as we go to break.

We are back from break and Jinder Mahal has made his way to the ring, including a perspex box for his turban.

Match 4 - Christian vs. Jinder Mahal
Quick little match. Finish comes with a Killswitch followed by a frogsplash for the pinfall. Nice to see that Christian is mixing up his ending moves now.
WINNER - Christian

Kelly Kelly is backstage, making her way to the ring so it looks like we have some Diva action next.

Back from break and Kelly Kelly and Beth Phoenix is making her way out to the ring.

Match 5 - Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix
Layla is watching on from backstage. Beth manages to get the upper hand, and a stiff clothesline followed by the Glam Slam is enough to get the win.
WINNER - Beth Phoenix

The 2-on-3 handicap lumberjack match is up next after a commercial break.

Sheamus and Cena make their way to the ring, as Vickie Guerrero introduces Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger. Then afterwards, the third partner comes out, Tensai with his manager Sakamoto. The lumberjacks then make their way to ringside, comprising of all the heels on the roster.

Match 6 - Sheamus & John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger & Tensai (w/ Vickie Guerrero & Sakamoto)
It looks that like during the match, Tensai got busted open the hard way on his forehead. The heels have the majority of the momentum, until Cena makes the hot tag. Sheamus gets attacked by the lumberjacks outside and then they move into the ring to attack Cena too. Then the face superstars come out to help out. While the rest of the guys fight, Cena goes up the ramp backstage to look for Big Show, only to find Laurinitis, who doesn't know where he was, reminding Cena that he can't touch him. Big Show then manages to hit Cena with the WMD to leave Cena out cold as Raw goes off the air.

Some interesting things going down tonight. How will this all develop toward the PPV in 4 weeks time? Only way to find out is to tune into Monday Night Raw next week! ASHLEY OUT

Interview: Chris Jericho Comments On His WWE Re-Debut & More

Credit:TheSunUK CHRIS JERICHO has revealed the roots of his terrific feud with CM Punk which led to the pair having sensational matches at Wrestlemania and Extreme Rules. comment on this story 1 comment Follow The Scottish Sun on Twitter The WWE star and Fozzy frontman told us he first pitched the idea to Vince McMahon in August — four months before vignettes started appearing which hinted at his return. Jericho and Punk feuded over the use of the term ‘Best in the World’. They later clashed again when Jericho claimed Punk’s family were addicts and he tried to instigate the famously Straight Edge WWE champion into drinking himself. The feud was well put together and received critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. Speaking exclusively to SunSport, Jericho said: “It was a blast. It was the reason I came back. “I went to meet with Vince in August to discuss working Wrestlemania with Punk. “I knew we could do something with the ‘best in the world’ thing, and it amped up really well with the alcohol thing. "It’s all about the storyline to get you to the match and I thought both matches were great. “All that I care about is that I walked out of both of them feeling very vindicated and very happy with both. "They were both excellent matches to add to my résumé. CLASH ... CM Punk and Chris Jericho in WWE action CLASH ... CM Punk and Chris Jericho in WWE action “There were people that thought our match at Wrestlemania was the best. "We didn’t have the attraction vibe that the other two matches had. The Rock is an attraction at this point. The Undertaker’s streak is an attraction. “Punk and Jericho was just your good old-fashioned wrestling match for a title. "The other matches were amazing too. That some people said we had the best match on the show, I was very proud of that.” Jericho’s return was pre-empted by a series of cryptic vignettes featuring mysterious schoolchildren in an empty classroom, spliced with bleak music and images. The clips went viral online, sparking speculation that it could be foreshadowing his big return. Fans looking deep into the videos thought they saw images of Jericho, whispered messages and felt that the schoolgirl in the clips represented his desrie to return to the squared circle. But Jericho said: "They were looking too deep into it — WAY too deep. “It was just supposed to be a creepy thing. My idea was that it was the Mayan calendar in 2012 saying it’s the end of the world and I was going back and it’s the ‘end of the world as you know it’. ROCK ON ... Chris Jericho at last year's Golden Gods in Los Angeles ROCK ON ... Chris Jericho at last year's Golden Gods in Los Angeles “That means that if one day you are walking down the street and you find a dog, and then the dog lives in your house, then it's the ‘end of the world as you know it’. "It’s the end of the way that you used to live and it’s a new world. “The girl we just put in because she was creepy looking. "There was never supposed to be a girl coming in with me — there wasn’t a change of plan. "It was exactly what it was intended to be — a cryptic little cool thing that led to me coming back and doing what I did.” When Jericho did return, on January 2, he strutted to the ring to a huge reception, milked the crowd’s cheers for minutes on end and then left without saying a word. Fans were shocked but intrigued and it certainly created a major buzz for his latest comeback. He said: “That part was Vince’s idea. He was the one that suggested that and I thought it was great. "I like to do something different that people don’t expect. That’s what I’ve always been about, in everything I do.” Outside of wrestling, Jericho and his band Fozzy’s star continues to shine increasingly brightly. And he will return alongside his musical cohorts next month for a series of events. Fozzy — whom Jericho revealed will be releasing a brand new album in August — are playing a sold out gig at Camden’s Roundhouse. They will then put on shows at Wolverhampton’s Slade Rooms before featuring in their biggest show to date at the Download Festival at Donnington Park on June 9. Jericho said: “When we played Download in 2005 we were on the third stage and now we’re on the second stage. "It’s cool to know we’re building our name and getting higher and higher up the bill. “We started as a small fish in a small pond, then we got to be the big fish in the small pond and now we’re a small fish in a giant pond. “When you do a festival, a lot of people know you but a lot of people don’t know you. "The great thing about playing at Download is that you open yourself up to a whole bunch of new fans that are a captive audience. “I love UK festivals because people go to watch as many bands as possible. They aren’t just there to see their favourites, they’ll be there all day long. "I love that vibe of going there with 20,000 fans and leaving with 40,000 fans if you do your job properly. “The UK is the second home for Fozzy and we’ll continue to treat it that way, and come here as much as we are welcome to.” Fozzy will also take to the Thames to play aboard party boat HMS Hammer on June 11. And Jericho will then take up hosting duties for the 10th annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards at the O2 Arena.
