News On Plans For WrestleMania

WrestleMania 28 may just end up being a 7 match card as officials want to leave enough time for the main events as well as backstage vignettes and promos for The Rock. Word is that The Rock will be given as much time as he wants for his promos and segments building to the main event.

Officials have announced few matches for the card with just two weeks to go because they wanted to make sure they have enough time cleared for the top matches. Triple H vs. Undertaker, CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho and The Rock vs. John Cena all have 25-30 minutes set aside.

There is talk that Hell in a Cell will be in the middle of the event with The Rock vs. John Cena going on last and possibly Punk vs. Jericho opening the show.

Backstage News On Evan Bourne's Possible Return To WWE

There is a lot of talk within WWE that Evan Bourne may return to feud with Jack Swagger for the United States Title once WrestleMania 28 is over. Bourne is also under consideration for one of the spots on Team Long for the big multi-man match at WrestleMania.

However, officials are considering leaving Bourne off WrestleMania altogether as a form of punishment for his repeated Wellness failures over the past few months.

When pushing Bourne is brought up, the argument is there that he could be fired from the company if he fails another test. WWE official are always hesitant to push talents who have failed more than one test.

News On Cody Rhodes/Big Show

WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes is said to be dealing with a few minor injuries as of late. Cody has been seen backstage limping around and one source says Cody was noticeably in pain at last week's TV tapings and this week's SmackDown tapings in Ohio.

We noted a week back that the Road to WrestleMania this year was taking its toll on the WWE crews but word is that Cody has been working hurt. Cody also hurt his elbow and leg in the RAW match a few weeks back that Wade Barrett was injured in.

Despite Cody's health, the general consensus within WWE is that he will go over Big Show and retain the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 28.

Update On Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis At WrestleMania

As reported before, WWE officials do have a role planned for The Miz at WrestleMania 28 but they won't announce it and aren't looking to talk about it too much because they want it to be a big surprise.

- As we have also posted, Rey Mysterio may end up with the final spot on Team Long for the big multi-man match at WrestleMania 28.

WWE officials have also been considering Evan Bourne for the spot.

There was talk of making the Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis match an Elimination Match but that would take up too much time.

*Spoiler* Results For WWE Smackdown 3/16/12

The show opened with The Peep Show. Christian hosted John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long. David Otunga was there as well. Christian sold his services to the highest bidder. Laurinaitis said if his team wins at WrestleMania, he would give Christian a title shot. Teddy Long tried to do the same thing but John told him it was too late. Kofi Kingston did join Team Teddy thought. He took on Otunga in an impromptu match and beat him.
They did a Daniel Bryan-AJ segment where Bryan once again mistreated her, telling her she looked bad in the dress she was wearing.

AJ beat Brie Bella.

Cody Rhodes beat The Great Khali.

Randy Orton came out and announced that he will be taking on Kane match at WrestleMania 28.

Big Show squashed Drew McIntyre.

Mark Henry squashed Yoshi Tatsu (remember him?).

Chris Jericho beat Sheamus when Bryan cost Sheamus the match,

Top WWE Executive Released By The Company

According to PWInsider,WWE executive Ty Bailey was released from the company yesterday. Bailey had worked directly under John Laurinaitis.

Bailey worked for the NFL before coming to WWE and was in charge of booking talents as extras for TV tapings, among other things. He had been with WWE since December of 2005.
