WNL returned to the airwaves on 3-28-11 on the SNS Radio Network with "The Outlaw of the IWC" The TreyDawg and "Mr. Money on the Mic" JJ (ALL CAPS)$exay. JJ and Trey ran down the news of the week sponsored by Wrestling-Online.com including news on Kurt Angle and Sin Cara. After the break JJ and Trey ran down the 3-28-11 edition on Monday Night RAW going into WrestleMania 27. After the final break JJ and Trey took phone calls and read emails from the WNL family before wrapping the show with Mark Collie "In Time".
According to PWInsider Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov were added to the eight man tag against the Corre at Wrestlemania as a result of WWE Creative deciding to move Christian into a role where he will be in Edge's corner at Wrestlemania 27 when Edge faces Alberto Del Rio for the World title.
There was also a feeling that Marella in particular had "earned a spot on the card" based on his work the last few years.
In regard to Kofi Kingston not being currently booked on the Wrestlemania card, I was told that nothing is definite yet but there was talk of possibly adding Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kinfston to the card in the last day.
The champion of the Pro Gay Wrestling Federation is OUTRAGED that WWE announcer Michael Cole has not been suspended for posting a homophobic slur on Twitter ... TMZ has learned.
First off ... yes, there is a Pro Gay Wrestling Federation.
Secondly, we spoke with PGW champion -- The Gay Avenger -- who tells us he's upset by Cole's "intolerant and insensitive" comment ... and insists the word encourages a "hostile bullying environment."
PGW founder and CEO Francis Minks adds, "How can ANYONE at the WWE say anything derogatory about gay people?? Look at what they do and have been doing for a living for years! Big muscles, small tights rolling around! I'm just saying, honey."
Minks adds, "People in glass houses shouldn't throw sconces!"
Cole has since issued an apology for using the slur ... and the WWE says Cole will take part in a GLAAD training session in an effort to educate him about the perils of discrimination.
The Avenger -- along with several other wrestlers -- tell us they're upset Cole did not get a harsher punishmen
According to PWInsider.com, World Wrestling Entertainment released their top Producer/Agent Dave Finlay yesterday
The story making the rounds is that The Miz was booked to come out and interrupt the national anthem during a house show in Champaign, IL over the weekend in order to cut a promo that would set up himself vs. Randy Orton to open the card. There were a number of representatives for the national Guard, who are a HUGE partner and sponsor for WWE, in attendance. Obviously, they were not pleased with the anthem being used to get heel heat.
When word made it's way back to WWE management, the decision was made to release Finlay, who as the top Producer of the show, "had to fall on the sword", as it was described to me.
There were a lot of shocked people within the company today as word began to make the rounds among the wrestlers and staff. Finlay was well liked and more than a few people I spoke to hoped that it was a situation where he was let go only to be brought back down the line.
